Andy Mayo

Soulful, jazz-blues singer-song writer, Andy Mayo will be playing with a five-piece jazz line-up for DeFest!  Featuring the melodic jazz sax soloist Nick Beston, this will be a performance with originality and style...  Andy plays with this great band – as well as solo and “unplugged” - across the UK and further afield…

La Mouche We sing songs from the 20's. 30's and 40's. Sometimes as they were written, but mostly mucked about with in our own La Mouche style. We bring you blues from Bessie Smith, swing from Sinatra, jive from Jordan and a whole lot more.
And it gives us girlies a good excuse to dress up in lovely frocks. So it's not all bad.....

Myke Masters

MMB is a jazz funk fusion Band led by Myke Masters, with Jazz forming the very heart of their music. Incorporating elements from many other styles, these the band has a new line up the six musical artists have an immense ability to form a contemporary sound that needs to be heard. The band is happiest playing live and this is evident when seen on stage. The collective talents of the group provide original material that has proved popular with all audiences, yet each artist incorporates their own unique style to the mix. MMB are currently working on their soon to be released second album.

 Kit Packham & Friends

Caterham resident Kit Packham is probably best known as the singer and leader of jump, jive & swing band One Jump Ahead. He has performed from Islington to Israel, Belfast to Baghdad, and Docklands to Deutschland and played with veteran rockers Frankie Ford, Screaming Lord Sutch, Ray Davies, Wee Willie Harris, Heinz, Billie Davies and Johnny Legend as well as the American Pie Rock’n’Roll Theatre show and many Blues and Jazz bands. He is the current Chairman of the Musicians Union’s Gig Section Committee and also serves on the Jazz Section Committee. As a composer, singer, saxophonist, bandleader and album reviewer for Blues in Britain magazine he “wears a number of different hats” - which conveniently hide his balding pate! His band today will include a member or two of One Jump Ahead and other superb local musicians. His own songs like “Why Keep a Dog (& Bark Yourself)?”, “Couch Potato” or “We Don’t Normally Work This Cheap” usually have more than a pinch of humour but are also aimed at dancers.  These are mixed in with items from the Great American Songbook, classic jump/jive and Rhythm & Blues or overlooked gems that rocked the juke joints across the USA in the decade or so that followed WWII. Frankie has also performed in Las Vegas, Ireland, Germany and Spain and had two sell-out concert trips to Italy to perform with a full swing orchestra in December 2009.
